To add capacity to your rainwater harvesting system, you will likely consider multiple tanks. There are myriad ways to connect tanks.
Simplest: The simplest way to connect tanks is to connect two or more tanks of the same size (height) next to each other at the same level, using a pipe (1"-2" typically) at the bottom, so that both tanks fill at the same rate. This works for above and below ground tanks of the same size (height) at the same level. You can put water into and take water out of any tank connected in this way.

If your tanks are not the same size, cannot be near each other, or cannot be at the same level... or even to connect above-ground tanks with underground tanks... there are myriad options. The "best" method will be based on your site conditions and use case.
Below are some examples of systems we have configured. Contact us if you would like a consultation to discuss what's best for your site.
