Greywater System (treated)
For part of the greywater system, we installed The Estuary™ from Waterleaf, a three part greywater recycling system that pulls from showers, sinks, and laundry. Water is pumped in, filtered, and pumped back out. In this case, we used the recycled water for establishing irrigation of a large greywater basin in the back yard.
Greywater System (untreated)
The majority of the irrigation is untreated water that comes directly from showers, sinks, and laundry in the main and guest house, and conveys it outdoors in a branched, gravity fed system.
With the installation of these two system complete, we worked with the home owner to select plants for a greywater basin.
Due to the nature of greywater use in irrigation, we can plant high water needs plants like fruit trees and water loving shrubs.
